My first cycling tour was around 30 km (I don't remember precisely!!).
And that was in Munshiganj. .Since it was near to my home town, Narayangonj, I often go there. Each and every time I have been amazed to discover such a beautiful town which had existed all these years in my neighborhood and i didn't notice. Munshigonj is full of greenery, the roads are clean and smooth pitched, less crowded (few areas have no dwelling at all), people are friendly and foods are cheap and tasty (yummy!!).
This made me even more crazier for cycling and I began to wander in nature, move through new towns and streets. Then I moved on, whenever I felt a bit low, I just put my feet on paddle and was gone for the day.....
Cycling has injected happiness into my blood......

Munshiganj is like a smart, developed village to me.
Main transportation is :buses, polly-bikes, motor-bikes and bicycles.
But unfortunately number of motor-bikes are more than bicycles which are affecting the nature of this beautiful villages along with buses, trucks and other motorized vehicle. At-least one out of three families own a motor-bike.To them motor-bike represents youth, energy, wealth and power. And owning a motor bike has turned into a trend among them.

I have been there many times. And NCC(Narayanganj CyclistClub) members visit there often. Many cyclist from Dhaka and beyond have also been there. I was dumbfounded when a kid, around 10, screamed out"BD CYCLIST" while I was gushing past him. They are being inspired in cycling and media has played a great role so far. Hopefully people of Munshiganj would also contribute in gifting a greener world to their next generation.
